The 8 Days Safari covers the best wildlife spots in Kenya. Look out for the large Elephant herds in Amboseli National Park situated on the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Enjoy the experience of staying in a Treehouse in Mt. Kenya National park. Witness millions of Flamingoes in Lake Nakuru along with Rhino and other game animals. Also, visit the world-famous Masai Mara National Park to track the wild cats and other plain animals in action in the endless savannah grasslands.
Depart Nairobi in the morning passing through the rich agricultural farmland on the slopes of Mt. Kenya to the mainly dry scrubland and open Savannah plains of Samburu Game Reserve. You will arrive later for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive.
After breakfast embark on a Morning and afternoon game drives. Here the Ewaso Nyiro River supports a wide variety of game among them elephants, buffalo, cheetah, leopard, lion, grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, long necked gerenuk and the Oryx.
Depart Samburu after an early breakfast and drive through the scenic areas to the west across the Lerochi Plateau, picnic lunch en route later descends to the floor of the Great Rift Valley, arriving Lk. Baringo in the afternoon. This is a fresh water lake, which supports a great variety of birds as well as hippos and crocodiles. Indeed the lake is reputed to be the bird-watching center of Kenya.
Early morning we head south via Lake Bogoria, which is a shallow soda Lake with a beautiful scenery and also home to a sizable number of flamingos and other species of birds. The highlight however is the boiling hot springs and geyser, which also contributes to the beauty of the lake. After lunch we proceed to Lake Nakuru in the South, another shallow soda lake that is described as an ornithologist paradise and one of the world’s most magnificent sights. Here one has an opportunity to see up to millions for flamingos besides tens of thousands of others birds. Lake Nakuru is a rhino sanctuary and also harbors lions, warthog, waterbuck, buffalo, hippo and many other animals. Dinner and overnight in a guesthouse or hostel located inside the park.
After breakfast we head further south to Maasai Mara. You will arrive in good time for check in and lunch.
For these 2 days we explore the Mara region which is packed with the big five and many varied wildlife. You will enjoy picnic lunches while in Maasai Mara.
After breakfast at the Lodge/Camp, enjoy game drive enroute as you embark on your return journey to Nairobi.
